In-need Families Receive Restored Vehicles

Golden State Collision Centers give back to community by offering vehicles.

Each year many families who are down on their luck receive Christmas gift baskets. They bring a little holiday cheer to otherwise bleak households. But a Sacramento auto body repair business, Golden State Collision Center, goes the gift basket idea one better by giving vehicles.

This year the company presented two rehabilitated vehicles to in-need families during its “Giving Back to the Community Benevolence Event.” Over the past two years three local families have received restored vehicles. This year’ event took place with support from Farmers Insurance Group, Cottage Housing, Inc., and Casa de Esperanza. Local vendors, including AutoWest Honda, Roseville Toyota, LKQ, Specialized Parts Planet, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Goore’s for Babies to Teens and employees of Golden State Collision Centers, Inc. donated their time and services as part of this program.

“Each year, we come across cars that are written off by either the owner or the insurance company,” said Dave Finkelstein, owner of Golden State Collision Centers. “Often these older vehicles are simply in need of mechanical or body work to get them road-ready and safe to drive. Golden State believes that these cars are going to waste when there are people who really need them, and that is the basis of this annual program.”
